Angel

You sing with you heart
The beauty, peace, love and joy
But no one listens
There, nobody cares at all
But here, your voice means the world

Rorschach test

The brushstrokes of ink
Form images of something I can only see
I try to show you the images I created
But you are perplexed
When the feelings of stupidity overwhelm me
I shut my mouth
Now I just say I see what others envision
But within my minds' eye
I see what everybody else can not

Ocean- Aoife Connolly

The reflection of the rising crimson sun upon you
Would make anybody feel at ease
As your wind blows sweet kisses across my face
And your waves gently touch my tired feet
But as I stand here alone beside you
And night comes creeping in
I fear you,
The wind and
 your waves
That had gently touched my tired feet
Because you are not the same
And the darker sides appear

Ode to my mother

My mother's arms are held wide open
As I sit myself down on her lap
Before the fire-burning stove
Located on the north end of our house
It was there in the living room armchair
Where I felt my mom's love
As together we would sit and watch
The roaring flames of the fire engulf the burning logs
During the cold winter days

Hiroshima

Trees of charcoal
Sway in the hot summer sun
Grounds scorched with pain
And children's faces are painted with streaks of ash
Loud noises of moans and groans arises
As each person walks barefoot
Over the rubble that pierces at their skin

Trails of blood then follow
As each of them stare ghostly into the darkness
Against the gray sky

Northern Ireland

The fighting never seems to stop
Innocent lives are taken away too soon,
And yet,
Nobody cares
For they continue to fight
And take away lives of happy children
Sleeping in cribs and beds at night
Bombs, guns, and knives
Rip, tear and shear through their flesh and tiny bones
Screams and cries are heard
throughout all of the land
And still nothing is done.

Me-

When others see me
They may see someone with a smile so bright it's blinding
And they may see eyes that sparkle like the stars
But what they fail to see
Is everything else about me
They think they can look at me
And know all about me in just one glance
But they don't
For within this smile so bright,
Lie my lips
Awaiting the sweetness of a kiss
And inside those sparkling eyes
Lie hungry eyes
Where the real me hides

Fairy Tale

I sat there
I sat there with you
As we held each other close
Arm in arm and hand in hand
Beside the burning fire
It was there in your living room
where i pressed my ears against your muscular chest
And listened to the strong rhythm of your beating heart
It was there
Where I stared into your illuminated eyes
That reflected the sensation of our love
And it was there
Where I breathed in your soul
As I moved my lips in a patterned motion along yours
There was where I understood the true meaning of love

The War

The bullet came down and hit his friend
Nobody knew that his life would end
The war has been on for more than a year
Families and friends are in deep fear
The young soldier was there
As he watched his friend die
Rage boiled within
And he began to cry
He then gripped his gun
And he bid a farewell
Pulled the trigger and sent the others to hell
He now stares at the bodies
The bodies he killed
And all that can be seen
Is the blood being spilled
The bullet came down and hit his friend
Nobody knew that his life would end
